A couple of weeks ago I was in Target, minding my own business, and I was challenged. I walked by the Cover Girl Outlast Stay Brilliant Nail Polish display, and it advertised that this polish is supposed to stay on and stay glossy for up to a week with no top coat needed, or your money back! I picked up the color I liked and said, “Challenge accepted!” I shelled out the $4.99 plus tax and headed home to polish my nails.
I have to say, I’m fairly impressed, which shocks me, because I don’t have any faith in Cover Girl’s products. As I’ve said in my e.l.f. makeup review, I’m a product snob. I was sure that I would wear this polish, it would chip after a few days, and I’d be sending the bottle and receipt to the company in order to get my money back. I was wrong – the polish lasted four days on my hands (and I’m hard on my hands), and three weeks on my toes!
I give this product two polished thumbs up!
Goes on easily because the square cap is easy to grasp
No need for base coat or top coat
Dries quickly, within five minutes
Affordable at $4.99 a bottle
Limited colors available, but the ones they have are pretty – red, turquoise, neutral.
The formula is fairly thin – I put on two coats, but you can put on three if you aren’t as lazy as I am.
The Bottom Line
I plan on picking up a few more colors to use on photo shoots (on my models) because it’s so easy and quick to apply and dried fast. I think this is a great product to have on hand for your wedding, especially if you’re running around and busy and have run out of time for a manicure.
